WHAT IS A FIXER?
A fixer is a local coordinator, production manager, or field producer.
Our production fixers in Israel and Palestine are all highly experienced professionals. Each fixer is dedicated to one production, taking care of their needs, coordinating the shoot, advising them on logistics, security and content.
Our fixers are fluent in English and some speak additional languages: German, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish and Japanese.

We provide news productions with a full package of services. From the initial research, coordination, filming and upload / uplink or local post production.
The production fixer in Israel is the local key person in the production. All our fixers / coordinators are very experienced in planning and producing news shoots. While the fixer is with the crew in the filming locations, he or she is constantly in touch with the Tel Aviv office to assist with updates and coordination.

OUR WARTIME EXEPRIENCE
Beginning with the 2nd Intifada in 2000-2003, we have been working with foreign media crews in Israel. We continued to do so on a regular basis, during the various military campaigns of Israel in the Gaza Strip, and in the 2nd Lebanon war in 2006.
Unlike previous military operations and times of special security conditions, Hamas massacre on October 7, 2023 changed everything. Israelis woke up to a war near home, and we switched at once from routine to a state of war. By the second day of war we had more than 15 fixers working with visiting news crews from around the world. We continued providing fixer services in Israel and the West Bank for an even larger number of news crews until January 2024, when the intensity of news cycle relaxed. At that time some of our fixers focused on documentary projects, while others continue to provide news services to our international customers.
PRODUCTION COORDINATION
Our fixers get full support from our office team: online news alerts, logistical assistance and online research work when needed. In providing production services, we are unique: the Highlight Films personnel are both Israelis and Palestinians, who are all experts in their respective fields. Therefore an Israeli fixer always accompanies productions filming in Israel. Obviously, a Palestinian fixer works with productions in the West bank or Gaza.
